Flank Steak

I took a flank steak out of the freezer the other day, hoping to make it for dinner since it had been in our freezer for quite a long time.

Dinner time was quickly approaching, and I had not figured out what I was going to do with the flank steak. On usual days, we would just throw it on the grill. However looking outside, our deck was covered with about 12 inches of snow - grilling not an option!

I thought I'd make a pineapple teriyaki marinade - but no pineapple; no teriyaki. So here's what I did in a hurry:

Mix together soy sauce (approx. 1/4 cup), brown sugar (a couple tablespoons), and sprinkled with ginger (1 tsp.). I brushed half of the mixture on the flank steak. Put it under the broiler for about 6 minutes; turned it over, brushed the reminder of the steak with the mixture. Topped it with horizontally cut green onions. Finished the cooking process (it's best rare).

Voila - sliced it very thinly and threw it on top of a salad. It was delicious!!!

Quick and simple. Worked out great, and we'll definately make again!
